St Clement Danes, Westminster, 27/01/2018

Helen Webb writes:

Quarter peal day at St Clement Danes, today. Two of the four quarter peal attempts were scored (details here): it didn't help that we were under pressure because of timings, but there was some stonkingly good striking in the quarter peals that were lost.

The dedications for both quarter peals is "To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the passing of the Representation of the People Act on 6th February 1918 by which women in the United Kingdom first got the right to vote"

2018 is the centenary for women in the UK first getting the vote, and of the end of the first world war. A challenge for the Guild to ring 100 quarter peals in 2018 has previously been mooted (see the Guild Report issued at the 2017 AGM). Eight quarter peals have already been rung by the Guild this year...

Let's do it! And let's get as many firsts as we can: first quarter peal, first in method, first conducting...
